Miami Airport Gets Its First Bitcoin ATM

On October 15th, the Miami based startup Bitstop announced it has installed Miami International Airport's first Bitcoin ATM.

As the third busiest airport in the United States, in terms of passenger traffic, this is clearly a strategic move by the startup. Not only is it the third busiest in the US, it is the largest gateway between the US and Latin America.

In a statement from Co-founder Doug Carrillo, the company said,

"More and more people prefer to travel with Bitcoin rather instead of cash for convenience and security. Miami International Airport is a perfect place for our customers to conveniently exchange their dollars for Bitcoin or vice versa when traveling domestic or abroad."

Bitstop is currently on track to reach 500 Bitcoin ATMs installed world wide by the end of 2020.
